Meet the Coaches!!!

Below are small auto-biographies written by the BASE coaches for this '09-'10 school year. And since our theme this year is based on Walt Disney classics, they also each share their favorite Disney character of all time! Check back in three weeks to see the coaches who will be working with us this summer!

Director:Justin Bouckaert- "I am a God follower who has been given a desire to work with students. I am currently a master's of elementary education student at SBU, and got married to my wonderful wife on June 7,2008. I have been given opportunities to teach in Africa, Germany and Switzerland. When I first started working here almost 4 years ago, I completely fell in love with the program and it's outreach for children and their families. I look forward to working with each family to make their time at BASE enjoyable and worthwhile. And my favorite Disney character is Pluto!"

Assistant Director: Brittany Woods- "I love children and my greatest desire is to share Jesus with them. I believe that BASE is one of the great ways I am able to do just that. I have been involved with BASE for almost 3 years and have enjoyed every minute of it. I am excited to see how God works through BASE this '09-'10 school year. And my favorite Disney character is Princess Belle!"

Coach Savannah- "Hi! I have been working at BASE for almost 2 years. I am a student at Southwest Baptist University, and have lived in Bolivar my whole life. I love working at BASE and being with the kids everyday watching them grow, learn, and have fun are some of the best parts of my day. I also love setting a Christ-like example for them to see and follow. And my favorite Disney character is Ariel!"

Coach Chuck- "I'm currently 21 years old. I am studying to attend medical school to be a pediactric oncologist. I have been working with BASE for over a year and a half. I love the opportunity to share Christ with the children that come through BASE. I hope that I can be an example of a loving Godly man for these children to see. God Bless! And my favorite Disney character is Simba!"

Coach Mindy- "I'm going into my senior year at SBU and majoring in elementary education. This summer is my first time at BASE and I'm having a great time! I love working with kids, football and my fiance Mike. I'm greatful for a chance to show Christ's love to the kids attending BASE this summer. Go Heroes!"

Coach Tarah- "I am a junior at SBU and majoring in Secondary math education. I worked at BASE over the summer of 2008 and am happy to return for this school year. I love playing with kids, and am excited about working at Centerkid this summer where I will have the opportunity to lead a small group workshop and two other "fun" classes for the kids to participate in during their time there. And my favorite Disney character is Princess Ariel!"
