Crossing into Membership at FBC

There are several levels of belonging to The Crossing Community.

Casual Attender - You like attending worship or one of our Crossing Community events, but you're not ready to make any commitments.  Attenders are always welcome and we encourage you to check out ways to get involved deeper at FBC and The Crossing.

Regular Participant - You like what you hear.  You have joined a group and regularly participate.  Many people enjoy this level of commitment.  Your name is on the roll for a class or small group.  You like attending the Crossing Community events and might even take part in minor planning and leadership rolls.  You might even have a regular place of ministry service.  FBC and The Crossing is growing to become your church home, but your not quite ready to be all in.  If you are a college student you might even consider joining our church by watchcare.  Watchcare is a special class of membership that acknowledges a relationship with Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord and baptism into a baptist church, you desire to keep your membership at a home church.

Active Member - You get the whole concept of connect, grow, serve and share and the mission of First Baptist Church. You are ready to make a commitment to be part of the body of Christ that worships together in Bolivar at First Baptist Church.  You can connect through worship.  You are growing through Bible study.  You have or are looking for your place of service in the fellowship.  You understand the importance of sharing your faith.  Your hearts desire is to be "all in" with the body of Christ at FBC.

Membership at First Baptist is based on a profession of faith in Jesus Chirst as your Savior.  If this is not your experience, we invite you to make that profession at the end of any worship service at FBC or to talk with any of our ministry staff.  Membership is accepted by three methods:

By Baptism - if you have trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior and have not been baptized by immersion, we will receive you as a candidate for baptism.

By Transfer of Membership - If you are a Christian who was baptized by immersion in a church of like faith and practice after a profession of faith, we will accept you as a member on transfer of your membership.

By Statement - If it is not possible to get a letter of membership from a former church, you may join First Bapitst based solely on your statement that you are a Chritian who was baptized by immersion in a church of like faith and practice after your profession of faith.
