Mentoring Ministry
As we celebrate God’s faithfulness throughout the generations (Psalm 100:5), I am reminded of the Titus 2:3-5 passage which exhorts older women to guide younger women in how to live godly lives. Seek the LORD in how His faithfulness can be demonstrated through your life as a mentee or mentor through either One-on-One Mentoring or in a Mentee Group (aka-book club).
One on One Mentoring
To give women at First Baptist Church the opportunity to experience joy and growth in their walk with God, by participating in a one-to-one mentoring relationship. A mentor will be a woman who walks with God consistently, regularly attends worship, and desires to let her life be an example and godly role model. A mentee will be a woman who desires to learn from an older woman in the faith.
Mentee Group / Book Club
Two Mentors lead a group of 8-10 Mentees utilizing pre-selected books. You will read a book a month (for example “The Five Love Languages”), meet together for a meal, share and discuss the book and divide up into prayer partners for the month. This option is great for those who want: a group experience; to be challenged to grow spiritually and in the roles God has place you in. Willingness to commit to the time necessary to read the books, as well as monthly attendance is expected. The groups will begin early fall for approximately 9 months.
