"Be on your guard...all men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved."
-Jesus (Matthew 10:17,22NIV)
* Introduction: Following Jesus can be dangerous and risky. So, in addition to being "shrewd" (wise) and "innocent" (with integrity) (Matthew 10:16), Jesus warns us to have our eyes wide open to the reality of discipleship risks. We must both be aware and beware as we follow Jesus in 2012.
* In the face of discipleship realities and risks, Jesus commands us:
* Be on ________against the enemies of the gospel (vv. 17-18)-
* Be ___________to the Holy Spirit's leadership (vv. 19-20)-
* Be ___________to the gospel's effects (vv. 21-22a)-
