THE CROSSING is First Baptist's college ministry. Church is not about "attendance." We are the church and so we commune; we get involved. This is built out of the church-wide strategy of "connect, grow, serve, share."
In searching for as many opportunities to reach out by loving God and loving others, THE CROSSING is formed by many ministries and events. These center around people and their lives. While there is no distinct "one way" to love others, college students engauge themselves in the following areas to help meet the needs of each other and more on a regular basis.
This Fall...
GROUPS
Church is all about community. GROUPS is a ministry that focuses on the individual by each focusing on the whole. To learn more about GROUPS and how you can and should get plugged into this exciting life, click here.

Sunday Bible Study
Bible Study takes place @ 9:30am on Sunday mornings at The Esquire building on the First Baptist campus. Because there is always a need to sharpen each other by presenting the Word of God to each other in a relevaent way, we gather on Sunday mornings to discuss Scripture and what it means today. Bring a Bible and lots of questions.
Breaking of Bread
Need a break from cafeteria food? Every Sunday night we have our college dinner; free food for all college students @ 7:30 in the fellowship hall. Come eat and discuss the teaching and sermon of the day with lots of fellowship.
Tuesday Worship
Every time the people of God assemble, a revival breaks out. Every Tuesday night @ 7 we gather in the main worship center at First Baptist to lift up God's name and exult Him on high. This is a service directly from the hearts of students and by their own hands. This also offers a time for students to fellowship outside of their GROUPS and give testimonies of how God is moving in their GROUPS.
Shutter Night
Just about every college student loves to watch movies. Who doesn't? On a semi-regular basis we park it @ 7 sharp in the old theatre on the First Baptist campus called The Esquire and watch a flick. Come grab some free soda and popcorn and be ready to discuss afterwards the cultural significance of the film, its theological implications, and its cinamatography.
